(SAVANNAH, GA) Goodwill of the Coastal Empire is pleased to announce that Néstor Torres has been promoted to Senior Director of Manufacturing. Mr. Torres joined Goodwill in June as Director of Donated Goods. Prior to that, he served as Director of Logistics for Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia in Richmond, VA for seven years. In addition to his previous Goodwill experience, Mr. Torres brings over 30 years’ experience in of manufacturing, supply chain, plant management, warehousing, and quality assurance to Goodwill of the Coastal Empire.
As a social enterprise, Goodwill operates businesses to support its mission of helping people with disabilities and other barriers become employed and reach their highest level of self-sufficiency. Mr. Torres will be responsible for the growth and strategic direction of Goodwill’s manufacturing contracts.
Through those contracts, Goodwill provides packaging, kitting, and aviation manufacturing to its clients. Like Goodwill’s well-known retail operation, these contracts provide funding for the non-profit’s job training and career development programs, as well as work experience and permanent employment opportunities for the individuals Goodwill serves through those programs.

Mr. Torres holds an Associate’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management. In his free time, he enjoys gardening and playing golf.
